Default 893 rectifier help

Hi,

My 95 CBR900RR rectifier failed and fried my battery. Installing a new one with 6 wires. 3 yellow, a red, a green and a black. I can match all of the wires to the bike except the black?

any advise?

cheers

6 wires, hmmmm interesting.. where did you get your new r/r come from? what kind of bike?? should be able to figure out which one is the extra wire and where the rest go..

this is what i would do... i would wire up the three wires that are the same color from the bike to the r/r and dont worry they can go in anyway. so say you have three yellow/red wires under your seat solder them up to the three of the same corresponding wires that are coming out of the r/r and they also will probably be yellow/red/black but most likely yellow..
to double check on the r/r sided you can just look at where the wires come out and the three wires that are in line with each other and are the same color will be meant to be attached to the stator side of things and then you should only have to figure out which two are left over, one of them is going to be a ground, most likely black or brown and the last wire goes to the ignition side of everything and that wire i believe is red on the bike side and thats pretty much it...
if you can, you should throw a picture up of the new r/r and tell us where you got it from..

i was just rereading your question before posting my answer, sorry im just waking up.. ") you shouldnt have an extra wire, so its from a different bike, most likely a ignition sensor wire.. i wouldnt worry about, 95's didnt have it.. tape it off with shrink wrap and forget about it..i have a couple 95's and two 94"s and a 97. 900 and i use gsxr 1000 r/r's in all of them. they all run perfect now...
