Default 1995 900rr questions

I just bought a 1995 (so the title says) 900 rr, and I had a couple of questions I hope you all can answer. My bike has a 919cc motor on it, did 95's come with those? I also was wondering where the vin number is located. I have checked the frame around the triple tree but haven't seen anything. The other issue is my gauge cluster. I'm assuming they are all electric, but not working. I know the speedo is missing its sensor (and I don't really know if it has the wiring to connect to it once i get it) the tach doesn't work and the digital odometer doesn't work (again assuming because of the speedo sensor) Any input would be helpful

Welcome to the forum. A 95' you do not have. The digital odometer and 919 engine came on the 96' 900. As far as I know. The VIN is on the right side of the steering stem. The gauge cluster might have a blown fuse, so start with that and then if you have a DVOM start using that to check voltages. You should confirm your VIN with the title ASAP. Good luck and ride safe.

Thank you for your input, I found the vin on the bike and it matches the vin on the title. The internet confirms it is a 95. The plastics are newer so maybe someone tried to swap in the digital gauges and changed the motor?

Hi dude, the digital odometer is only for the 98-99 model; even a 96-97 is still using the manual. The engine was swapped to 919cc from 893cc starting from the 96/97 and 98/99 models. If you are very sure yours is a 919cc its probably a 96/97 model with some mods on it. I guess it should be registered at the end of 1995. I guess the tacho and odo won't be working coz the wiring harness to support both the 96/97 and 98/99 is completely different.
