Default Why buy Arai?

Cuz these guys are the shiz-nit! If anyone else owns one they know that these are the best out in the market. Well for those that don't know (and those that do), there are shield holders that keep the face shield in place. I busted my left one a little over a week ago from just lifting up my shield in an awkward angle. I was pretty pissed so I wrote Arai about it, and within a week they sent me the replacement part, no charge, no questions asked. These guys really stand by there products and know how to keep their customers happy. I went to a bike shop initially to see what they could do, and they wanted to charge me $50!! for the replacement part [:-]. If I ever have to get another helmet, it'll definately be another Arai.

However, it was quite a b***h gettin' the shield holder and shield back in place. Dumb-*** that I am it took me almost the whole day, lost a full day of riding because of it. But at least now I know how to do it.

arai is definitely a great helmet. I've never owned one but I have worn them and they are really good. If I could afford another helmet right now I'd like to try it. I've heard a lot of good things about their customer service as well, its a family company which is cool

oh and wrong section

Yeah I know it's the wrong section, but since I got a 600RR I just post here for my fellow brethren.

I'm a Shoei fan myself, but they're certainly the top two out there. I'm considering getting the bottom end Arai for a second helmet for passenger, either one though.
When you say shield holder, is that one of the pieces that cover the hinges of where the shield flips up or down?

All CBR riders are your brethren. I got a 600RR and try to read every thread that I can. It's more useful to others if it is posted in the right section. But on topic, I like my HJC cause it was nice and cheap.

I had a similar experience with Arai customer service. I had just bought a new Arai...and was putting in my face shield to wear it for the very first time. Well, the phone rang, it distracted me and I pushed a little too hard in the wrong direction and popped off the cover on one of the shield retainers. It broke one of those little plastic clips.

I was heartbroken. The next morning, I called them to order a new one (fearing I'd have to wait weeks and pay $50 or so)...but the lady on the phone was awesome, and said it happens, warrantied out the part to me, Priority Mail, no charge. Had the part on my helmet in 2 days.

Arai earned my business for a long time right there.

Almost exactly what happened to me. Those damn little plastic clips!! Luckily my shield could still stay on, but I couldn't open it to air out so everytime I came to a stop it would fog up. But all is good now and I have the piece of mind again that my head is being well protected.

dwhite, yeah the shield holders are the side coverings that hold the shield/visor in place and cover up the hinges/latches.

BB you're right, all riders are my brethren and I'll be sure to re-post this for everyone to read. Ride safe boys (and girls too of course).

the scorpion is the same quality as agv, shoe and arai, it's only 2 bills and the inside comes out (all of it) and you wash it in the washer with your laundry, the sheild is awsome 2 secons to change and you can do it with the helmet on I bought 5 helmets (between 300 and 500) and sent them back couse this one was the best.

I rock a Scorpion Exo 700 Raider helmet. Best helmet I've ever purchased.

Enjoying my new SHOEI. But I think Arai makes a fantastic product as well. This kind of customer service sells!!
