Who can mix motorcycle paint?
I have an 06 600rr that is the pearl orange color. I'm good friends wit a guy who owns a body shop and he cannot find the right paint code. The code on my bike is a YR-263p and he can only find a YR-563 in his computer system. Anyone know if these colors are close or can I only buy the paint from the dealer or colorrite?

I wouldn't take it to a body man. MOST (not all though) body shop places can't mix paint and just paint what the dealer gave them. If it matches great if it doesn't then sorry... Thats been my experience anyway. Most don't want to fool with matching it just right because it can be a pain.
I have painted about 45 cars and know its really hard. IF you want a great job done then I would take it to someone who just paints for a living. Even in recession most still have work if they are good and that is who I would go with. A good painter can match it by eye. It sounds crazy but its true.

I used the touch up pen and it didnt have the pearl that the rest of my bike did. Yea and the paint is free if I can get a paint code that he can mix. He does mix all his own paint tho, has the computer system to weight it and make sure its mixed right. I just cant get the color code to register on his computer. I'm gonna stop by the dealer tomorrow, if its pretty high, then I'll just order it from colorrite again. I was a little disappointed in the color I got from there tho, but if I dont have any other options then it will work.
