Default Wheelies...

ok, ive been working on my wheelies, i can get it up in first no problem, second is little harder, so my questions are:
how long can any of you hold up a wheelie on a 600rr? should i work on shifting into second in the air or keep it balanced in first and do slower wheelies?? can any of you balance it at 30mph and hold it there without accelerating?? do you sit or stand, if you stand do you stand on the left pass. peg?? thought about the -1+2 conversion but that would make my situation worse i think(run out of gear too fast).

thanks

Can hold it up as long as i want most of the time. I prefer 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies, but it's up to you. my next goal is slow first gears, but i'm not in the situation to start practicing that now. There's not a whole lot of use to shifting in the air...just learn to control and slow down your wheelies in each gear. As far as sitting or standing, it all depends on what you're trying to do. Sometimes i sit, sometimes i stand, sometimes i stand on both front, some staggered (left foot on back peg), some on both back pegs, etc. Do whats comfortable, and practice---then practice some more.

Also, i did the -1/+2, and i don't regret it one minute.

A buddy has a white 600RR that's setup as a stunt bike. The other day (on a track) he was practicing wheelies and managed to get one up in 2nd gear at about 65-70 mph. I don't do that kind of stuff, but it looks freaking sweet. I'm more into carving the corners and racing (on a track!) more than stunting.

get to the balance point other wise youll be chasing the wheelies.. dont worry about shifting or none of that.. just get the balance point.. when my bike was stock geared i could ride it a pretty good distance.. no 2+ miles but you get the point
