What speeds in what gears?

What speeds in what gears?
Hello group,
I am a new rider for starters, and I have an 04 600rr. I am a little puzzled on what range of speeds for each gear i should be in. If you could help me with this query that'd be great. I'd hate to be ruining the gears and motor if I am shifting to early or not shifting quick enough.
If you could fill out something like this for the correct speeds/gears :
(example: 0-10 mph - First gear 10-20 - Second Gear)
Thanks

So it's okay if you're going 35 mph in 2nd gear? I can get up to 25 in first gear, but does that mean i should just go to second and still run at 25 mph? I guess it will take more experience to learn what gears are good for what speeds.
What gear do you guys go in when your traveling at 50mph?

You can get up to way faster then 25 in first gear lol. However I shift to second differerntly depending on how I am riding. Getting on the highway I might take it up to 40 before I shift to second. You really dont need to worry about going to fast in different gears. I mean I dont recommend redlining it before every shift. If you really want some advice the best I can give you is shifting about around 5500-6500 rpms.

Thanks FITZ, so you're suggesting that it's a good idea to shift gears when I get up to 5500-6500 rpms for any gear? Do I disregard the sound of the motor, or is that how its supposed to be?
Where I live, the speed limit is 35mph for about a mile until it gets to 45-50mph. So for 35 should I stay in first, or go to second?

All of this is purely based on opinion, where you're riding, and what type of riding you're doing.
Personally, I will cruise between 5.5 and 6k rpms in anything higher than first gear when I'm commuting. But on the highway and riding aggressively on less populated roads I'll stay more in the 8-10k range to stay right at the peak of the power band.
Instead of focusing on which gear for which speeds, you should look more at the RPMs you like to ride in. It will translate to all the gears and is much simpler. These things will become more apparent and more natural as you become more experienced.
And if you haven't, you should take the MSF course to hone your riding skills. You'd learn a lot of new techniques and the instructors can answer any questions you have in-depth. The class in invaluable.
