Default what has Honda done?

I've seen nice looking 08s on ebay and enjoyed them although I really want an F4i.

But, I went to the dealer and they had some 09-10 leftovers and they put so much cover over the sides of the bike it looks like you cannot even check the oil without fairing removal.

I know I should trust Honda more than this, but it seems (even though its LC) it would just suffocate the engine on a hot day not letting some of the hot air escape out the side holes.

Maybe it will grow on me, but it looked cheezy at first glance and more cluttered. I liked the open, uncluttered minimalistic approach the 08 had. Less is more, correct?

You've got to admit though, its a nice looking bike. I will take a Honda over any new 600. They are built to last and perform. Johnnyh

Ive got an 09 and my bike runs around the same temp as a 07. Thats on a 100 degree day to sitting in traffic. I like the covering cause it doesnt let as much heat ecape from the side so its much more comfy sitting in traffic on a warm day.

Plus it cleans up the lines and makes it look smooth. I like my lady with nice curves and smooth lines. Not all jagged looking.

EDIT: You only need to remove one bolt to check the oil. There is also a side view point where you can see your oil level without removing anything.

I like how the 08 fairings were too. If I wanted everything hidden I'd buy another cane lol

I love my 09, but sometimes I wanna see the motor and can't. Also cant just top off the oil without fairing removing making an oil change a bit scary bc the sound the fairings make when removing them. (at least it is to me) lol. I wouldn't trade my 09 600RR for an 08 though... No way! I think it gave the bike a bit of class.

For the street, I love the look of the 07-08's. But for the track the extra fairings make room for more graphics and the bikes tend to look better IMO.

All you have to do for an oil change is buy a filter with a wrench attachment to get the filter off through the fairing. Then you take the one bolt closest to the filler plug out. With a long nose funnel you can add you oil and bam your done with it.

I have mixed emotions about it. I agree with the statement that it gives the CBR some class, and pretty lines. However, I have an 07 and I can't complain about my motor being right there and beautiful.

I'm with Junior--I haven't formed a solid opinion on the covers yet. With or without, the bike is still beautiful.
