Are we jealous?Pissed?

RE: Are we jealous?Pissed?
I'm really glad I own an 06 600RR for now. Sure I would like the lighter weight & better engine, but mine is plenty fast & I greatly prefer the looks & NO HESD on my 06.
Seriously, riding a 1000RR with the HESD really REALLY made me appreciate my 600RR steering feel. So much more direct. The HESD feels like overly boosted power steering or something. Weird! I don't like it at all.

RE: Are we jealous?Pissed?
I have a 1994 CBR 600F2...7k+ miles on it...and like the looks of it as compared to say a 2005 CBR600...
But...that's just preference...doesn't mean one is better...looks better...or is better than another....(not much anyway)
It's not like the difference between say a Ford Pinto and a Ferrari.
What I can't believe is that an actual employee would tell a customer "you're just jealous"...
I wonder how the manager or maybe some of the big guns at Honda Motorcycles Corp. would react if they heard that a loyal, paying customer, were being in a sense...insulted.
I would imagine said little employee might quickly find himself flipping burgers at McDonald's.

RE: Are we jealous?Pissed?
I got a plan.
- Keep the 06 as a street bike.
- Buy the new 07 specifically as a track bike.
Think about it. With the 07 being lighter, faster and has better handling, why waste that on the street when the track is what it was bred for?
This way, you get the best of both worlds.

RE: Are we jealous?Pissed?
Such strong negative opinions towards the 07 600RR leads me to believe there is at least a tad bit of jealousy fueling the fire.
Sure the new 600RR may not be your preference in look and it may not be the best looking bike but it is not at all 'ugly' or 'hideous' like what people here are describing it as.

Umm...well i think the new ones are bad ***, im not jealous or do i hate it. I have the 1st year for the CBR and yeah im bummed out cause id love to have all the new specs, but i will either live with it or get a new one, and thats not going to happen i cant even afford the 03 lol. But i do like the new colors and i like the look of them, but i like the performance of the bike more than anything. Everyone has thier opinion on what they like and what they dont.
If you like it you like it, if you dont, you dont. The guy is tryin to sell a bike, dont let him get to you.

not jealous here at all. In fact, I'm so glad I got the 06.......the MAIN reason I bought my bike was looks. Of course Honda quality came to mind, but looks took the cake. I looked at every bike out:
the Kawi made me want to puke.
The Gixxer was close to the Kawi- I hate turn signal mirrors.
the Yamaha looked nice, but I've never liked them. Plus the tach lie pissed me off.
The Triumph was 2nd on my list for looks, but their repair history (based on folks I know with them) was bad.
In my view, the 2007 CBR looks like the Gixxer from the side(sort of). I wouldn't buy it b/c of the looks. Here are my ranks: 06 CBR, 675, Yamaha, 07 CBR, Gixxer, Kawi
As for the specs...... 0-60 in 3 seconds is fast enough for me.

RE: Are we jealous?Pissed?
Believe it or not guys, and gals, the manager agreed with the guy who told me that, a.k.a. the assistant manager! Like I said, everyone at the dealership, except for one old **** in the parts department, are like family. So, one night during an O.S.U. game, we were just chilling in their "waiting area", watching the game, and I was like," So, what kind of a deal would you guys cut me on that '07 out there?" (they have a new black '07)...which lead to the '07 600 topic, somehow, lol. I told them my god's honest feelings, straight from the heart, and "BAM!", I got nailed, not just by the Ast. Mng. but by the Mng., and a couple sales people. I told them that one thing I DID like was the black swingarm. Then the conversation, no lie, lead to "'03-'06" owners, who say negative comments about the '07, are just jealous and mad. I mentioned a few things earlier, but, they said that even if we did like it, we could try to sell our bikes outright, which could take awhile, OR, if we traded it in, we'd lose alot because of a list of reasons. IDK, but if you ask me, yeah, you can't go wrong with the performance of the '07, but the looks...that's another story. You could easily drop a few bucks in your "older" bike and get the performance that the '07 has, but even better. Anyways, just hearing those comments come out of those peoples mouths upset me...VERY unprofessional!
