Are we blessed with the Vtec??

Are we blessed with the Vtec??
First off, I apologize if this a the most n00bness question, but i did search first!
As the RPMs rise do any vavles/flappers/anything that opens up top end to give us more power? My buddy has an 07 ZX6R and he can do something called the "staple mod" and by doing so his exhaust flapper stays open 100% of the time instead of him have to reach a certain RPM before it opens. He told me that people have seen hp gains from it. At least eight from what he told me.
I have a 2003 CBR600 RR. Do our bikes have anything similar?
Sorry for the n00bness and Thanks!

RE: Are we blessed with the Vtec??
He didn't get 8 hp from it. All it does is change the power curve by allowing more exhaust flow athigher rpms. If you get a full exhaust it removes it. And first off, lol vtec is not a blessing. (coming froma turbo dsm guy) and no the bikes don't have it. The CBR's are known for the low to midrange anyway, not top end.

It depends on the scenario. I come from a MR2T background, so i love the sweet torque that comes with it. But Vtec is fun nonetheless.
I understand what you're saying but this is the rage on the Kawie forums. I dont know, I didn't do through research into it, just going by what my friend has told me.
I guess if you plan on keeping the stock exhaust it can help.

The only Honda Motorcycle that has VTEC
(Variable valve timing through a secondary set of cam lobes)
is the VFR 800 Interceptor.
the RR does have a cable operated butterfly valve in the exhaust
that reduces noise and increases torque at lower RPM.
(the servo that operates it is under your seat, next to the battery)
