Default vertical license plate

okay i got a question might sound a bit dumb but im not sure which way it is suppose to go. My bike goes into the shop for a few mods and i am going to have them put it on with my other mods, Question is the vertical plate bracket that hooks up to the swing arm is the plate section suppose to be on the side where it sticks out more or is it suppose to be on the side where it kinda goes in closer to the tire. one the left side it goes in closer to my tire and if i put it on the right side it goes away from my tire. looking at it from the back. this is a pic of the part from the site http://nycparts.com/index.asp?PageAc...amp;ProdID=785any pics would we helpful thanks

I would worry about the plate becoming a knife edge in a tumble. I can see why people like them but they aren't for me at all.

Also, stay out of CT with a vertical plate, they are illegal in this state and I have had friends pulled over and ticketed for "Improper Marker"
