you dont need them for the track day, but if you look at the pic the thing covers the headlight, but the headlight still shines through so that you dont have to tape up the lights and stuff everytime you go to a track day. the material is track day legal. you put it on and it looks pretty trick, then you dont have to prep the headlights for the track by taping them up.
purpose for that white tape is for the numbers...they're called the number plate...not to cover up your headlights...
most track day organizers will still require you to cover your headlights and disconnect the lighting...

ok, were not on the same page here. i know that track day organizers require the headlights to be covered by tape or by vinyl. some require them to be disconnected, not all, but most. and i no its a number plate. if you look at it, it is vinyl that covers the light. the light still shines through. making it legal both at the track and on the street. so that you dont have to keep taping and untaping your streetlegal bike in preparation for the track. this thing doubles as a number plate and a cover for the headlights. i think we agree on the purpose, but i dont think you understood what i was saying. or maybe i wasnt explaining it right.
