Should i question myself on how hard i ride?, i realized today i was sideways on braking / corner entry 4 or 5 times on the road, and slowing down for the shop driveway. tore the knee out of my jeans and caught a little road rash.. maybe i should stay with a softer tire. i might be a little crazier than i even realize. anyone who jumps a hondamatic across a culvert then heads straight for the trails on a CBR400 should ask for a second opinion i guess id be happy to get 4k out of a set, that would probly get me through most of the summer riding season.

Ya, the Q2's are great. I never said they were slow, just that you can't get the same grip out of a touring tire that you will out of a performance street tire like the Pures, Q2's, 016's, Rosso Corsa's. I misspoke (misstyped?), when I said "road" tires, I meant touring tires. They'll last longer than the 016's like racerx is asking for but won't be as grippy in the corners. It's a trade off, grip vs longevity.

I'd personally go with the Q2's for the street since I prefer more grip.

I've been to Miller, Thunderhill, Pacific Raceways and ORP. Great tracks. I know there are A group guys with Q2's that can run a lot faster than me. I've run street and DOT race tires at the track. Street tires are great but I prefer the race tires for the added margin of error. Crashes are more expensive than tires (most of the time) and injuries suck

q2s are not a touring tire . they are in the same class as the pures and 2cts. they are not a full race tire,i agree with everything else your sayingthough

The Dunlop roadsmart sport touring would last you the longest. It will outlast the q2's because it isn't as soft. I bet you can get 5+ out of them them depending on how you ride. Its what I use because I am not always riding on the corners of my tires and they destroy anything else for the price.
