Default Tinting windscreens

Has anyone tried to just buy some sheets of window tint and tint the stock windscreen. Please post pics if you've done this or if you have any experience with doing your own tinting tell me what you think of this idea. Im really short on cash right now and im sick of the clear screen.

I'm pretty sure that the glue on window tint either does not stick to plastic very well or messes up the plastic. I'm considering painting mine instead, I'm just waiting on someone to post some pics before I do it.

I think it sticks to plastic becuase I know people who have used it to smoke out turn signals on cars. Although im not sure how it lasted long term.

I tried, but I couldn't get the tint to curve and fit properly.

I have heard of a few people painting theirs...

I was wondering the same thing. Was actually thinking of going to a tint shop, and see what they could do.

reason why you couldn't curve the tint to the shape you wanted it to is because you didn't heat the film...TOOLs for Tinting..1) Razor and Scissor 2) Tint (of course) 3) Hair Blow Dryer (use to heat up the film to make it slightly melted to bend/shape it 4)A credit Card ..etc 5) A bottle spray with Baby soap and Water.

Anyways, I bought me a real Smoked Windshiel, but i've heard people painted theirs...I was going to tint mine but it was like around 50 bucks off of Ebay..so I was like, might as well do get the real deal .

I watched my friend tint his headlights he used a mini squeegie and a sponge, along with a spray bottle and hair dryer. Its tricky practice makes perfect. They came out looking great so I know it would work on a windscreen.

well a buddy of mine just took his up to an custom body shop that smokes out the lights on cars and they said they would paint his wind screen. However he knew the owner so it was free. I would just buy some paint and do it. Here is a pic of his painted stock windscreen.

Your best bet is to just buy a tinted windscreen. All of the above mentioned ideas are good, and they work, but the results are only usually "good enough" and will hold you over until you get a tinted windscreen.

And there is a spray paint that is a transparent smoke..........sort of like a smoked clear coat.........that would be the route I would take.
