Thinking of picking up a used 2007 600rr. What should I look out for?
Hello all, Long time lurker here and the time has finally come to look for the bike for me. I'm going to be on the lookout for a 2007 CBR 600rr. Color preferences: red, white, black (in that order). (so if you know someone in Southern Cali, holler at me)
Anyway, obviously the bike will be used, what should I look out for? Things that come to mind.. Loose fairings, scratches, throttle sticking, funny noises, clutch engagement, brakes, tires..etc. Chain? I wouldn't know what to look for on the chain? Is there anything specific to the 2007 or any bike I should look out for? Should I aim for a bike under 5k miles? Any opinions would be great. I've ridden CBR's, R6's and GSXR's and the CBR is the bike for me. I've been debating for over a year now. So, please, enlighten me with cbrforum's best wisdom!
Thanks,
Ericson

Check the bump stops near the neck on the frame that stop the forks when your turning them side to side...if the bike was wrecked in the front, then there will be some marks and/or depressions on those bumps... also, look for bolts that may be out of place, these things are sure signs of a rebuild.
Look for rust on the chain. It's not a big deal, just means the bike has been sitting. You'll want to swap out for the 520 conversion anyways.
