sprockets?
Stock top speed is limited on all Japanese bikes exported to the US and Europe by a speed governor in the CDI that doesn't allow the bike to surpass 186MPH. A stock 2005 cbr600rr is able to achieve speeds right around 160MPH under excellent conditions.
Wow thats weak. My f2 could do 160mph easy. That was with -1 front +1 back.

yeah my buddy i ride with has a f3 , he swoar he hit 170 and i believe his speedo said that , but that surely is not the actuall speed. go to gearing commander that will clear things up. plus a 600rr stock gearing with little mods will not reach 170.
It was correct. I used my gps to check the speedometer. off by 2mph. It was just at the beginning of redline at 160. I just expected alittle more out of a newer bike.

Going to gearingcommander.com, the stock theoretical top speed is 147.44. With -1/+1 it's 135.22. I don't know what you were doing wrong, or if you just had a cheap GPS (low sample rate, not enough satellites to triangulate accurately, maybe you were going up/down in altitude), but there is just no way.

Sorry dude, there's just no way an F2 with -1/+1 hit 160. Even at redline. Just no. And certainly not "easy".
