Default Sprocket question?????

I am wanting to change my front sprocket to-1 and i am wondering if anyone knows how much top end speed this will take off my bike. Also if i do -1, +2.... Not too sure if i'm gonna do that but just curious... thanks

How often are you at the top end speed range on you bike, and who is keeping up with you, Does it really matter if you lose a few MPH?

Everyday.... J/k not alot but at the same time i wouldn't want it to drastically decrease my top end speed. I wasn't sure if i should be expecting only about 5-7 mph off or 15-20 mph off. Thats why i am asking the experts

you can expect to have a few MPH drop off, not a great deal, not 15 to 20. Maye 5 at most. Are you thinking of recalibrating the speedo?

a speedo healer will run you about $100....need to do this...will put extra miles on your bike you didn't ride otherwise...totally devalue it quicker

What I noticed most on my 05 CBR600RR, other then a lot more power, was a significant loss in fuel efficiency. Before the gear change my fuel gauge would start flashing red at about 130 miles. Now it flashes red at about 100 miles.

Has anyone else notice this same change in fuel mileage?

I am thinking about going back to the original gearing when my wifes starts riding it.

What's your stock gearing -- 16/43? If that's right then -1/+2 will put your speedo an additional 11.6% happy

such an easy mod (15 min)...nice to have options....if going on really long ride, go stock (or track day)...but just running around or lots of twisties/off the line drop the front...I have stock, -1, and -2 depending
