Default Sprocket Conversion ?

Im changin my sprockets on my bike this weekend. Goin either -1/+2 or -1/+3

My question is do what size chain do i need to get. I ordered a bigger chain, a 130 link one. I think the stock chain is 122 or something. I remembered the stock size when i ordered the chain at the bike shop. Ive been reading some posts on here and found that some people say they use the stock chain with their conversions. How is this possible? Dont the change in sprockets chain the length of chain needed?

Wow, I think 130 is gonna be too long. Typically I think the chain comes in a 114 link. Thats what my most recent chain came in, and I still had to cut 2 links off to get rid of slack. Ofcourse, my sprockets are a bit smaller, but I imagine you could get away with just getting a stock chain. I've scene chains that are 130 links, but they are typically more universal chains, and not cut to meet the requirments of a specific model. Either way, you'll be fine with a longer then need chain, just cut a few links off any you'll be set.
