son of a !#^@!$!!!!!
so it's going to be a nice day here in southern illinois so i take my bike to work this morning. well i'm zippin' along about 65mph and i feel a little nudge on my butt while riding. i'm like "what the!" i glance in my mirror and see this little thing flipping around on the highway behind me... all of a sudden i realize what it is... my damn seat cowl!!! i rode two up this weekend and replaced the cowl this morning.. but i failed to completely secure it. that sucker flew off my bike!!!! so do a quick u-turn and get it (cars thankfully dodged it)... i walk up to it and i'm amazed it's in one piece... but holy sh*t it's scratched up!!! now i gotta get it repainted...
so that's my wonderful morning ride... and of course my wonderful co-workers just laugh at me when i tell them...

that sucks man. with the price for sanding and painting, you might be better off buying another new cowl. that is unless you do it yourself. and where about in southern illinois are you located. im in western indiana. maybe we can get together for a ride when it gets a little warmer.
yeah.. thought about that. i'll have to see how much it is to fix it... then go from there.
i'm in carbondale (SIU). if you're ever in the area let me know. any good roads to ride up your way? but yeah.. definitely interested in getting together.

Tell me how much people are going to charge you for repainting it. My brother works at a highly reputable body shop in town and his boss would do it cheap if I took it to him. He could probably match the color no problem.
thanks kurt! i might take you up on that. well i got a quote for approximately $65 to fix it. he said he'd have to take a look at it for sure though. i'll keep you guys posted on this...
