in any case....would you guys say get a cable instead?? b/c i can return that ongaurd chain still for something else. and i am very lucky to have gotten my alarm from my gf for valentines day b/c i was actually going to wait on getting it sometime this month instead.

 

Wow you were lucky. I do like the sniper idea. You could rig your starter to some C4 and if they try again and get it started it would blow up killing them. Just a thought.

Keep your chain. I think that's actually pretty good. I have a new york fhuggedabout it chain myself, great investment.

I suggest you put a disk lock on the bike, heck, if you don't mind the hassle, put 2 disk locks, and a cover.

Pain in the **** to steal....preventing theft is impossible, it's just about making it as hard and tedious as possible.

 

I used to park right by my front door but i live on the 1st floor. I say get a disk lock and then ride it up a sidewalk and chain it to something. Locks dont help when its close enough for them to toss in the bed of a truck. Who can carry a bike 30 feet?

My complex has a underground gated garage but that didn't stop a thieft a few weeks ago who broke into a porche wich was about 4 parking stall away from me. I had a bad feeling i would be next so i bought 4 6' cable locks. I wrapped 2 cables around a concrete column and the other 2 linked and wrapped around my frame along with a disk-lock. I still don't fell safe. These f***** low lifes will find ways to get what they want. [:@]

 

Nice to thear you passed on the info warning the other guy, glad to that you didn't get jacked. although you want to ride it as much as possible, I'd get it away from your place because the jackers might be back looking for it. they come better prepared next time to deal with the alarm.

 

yeah thats really gay. i got a garage before i got my bike for this reason. i couldnt stand to wake up in the morning to notice my bike was gone or had been knocked over.

ill take the sniper gig, but i want to negotiate for some paint!
