Default Side Stand

Hey,

I've had my 03 RR for nearly a month now, an i absolutly love it, also got two track days booked up in the next two weeks!!
the only thing i dont like it the sh*t side stand, it feels like the bike is hardly leaning over at all when its on the stand, i recon if it were left out in a strong wind chances are it would fall over, even when i get climb of it i'm scared i'm gonna knock it over!!
Does anyone else feel the same and has anyone go a solution to this problem?

Cheers
Will

It would take at least a 25-30MPH gust from the port side to knock this bike over on a level deck, unless it's lowered.

What are you...like 3 feet tall...you actually climb off of your bike? The Honda engineers put a lot of research into that side stand and it works really well, unless you park on soft ground like dirt or hot asphalt, or put it partially down or forget to put it down...if you don't like the side stand, get a front and rear stand, then you only have to use it when you're out and about.

My 04 has plenty of lean with the side stand down. Unless you're not on level ground you shouldn't have any problems.

hmm.. yeah that's odd because all the RR's i've seen had more than enough lean on level ground. is your bike stock height?

I FELT THE SAME WAY WHEN I FIRST GOT MY BIKE (03 600RR). YOU GET USED TO IT, BUT I STILL WORRY IF THE GROUND ISNT LEVEL.

No I bet the person who he bought it from had it lowered and he didn't know about it. On a stock bike, any bike, the lean angle is more than adequate to prevent a tipover. Look under your bike where the rear shock mounts to the frame on the bottom. If the piece that goes to the shock that looks kinda like a dog bone is polished or has engraving on it, it's a lowered link.

Yeah, i've never had a problem with my 03. Unlevel ground is another story. Also, which direction are you turning the handlebars, that has a little to do with it.

That's what i was going to say, you should be turning your handle bars all the way to the left for best results.(that's why they lock in that position too)
