side pipe

I'm curious too, and don't believe it's true actually.

Why cant you put a 1000 pipe on a 600? why would it burn out your valves? I am not questioning your knowledge just curious why, especially with a aftermarket pipe.

custom prob, but there are some really expensive side pipe conversions... search you might find it, i know i contributed to osme thread about it.
btw you cant put a 1000 pipe on a 600, you will burn out your valves

I have a feeling that this thread has sidetracked, but you would most likely want to remap with a different pipe, whether it is from a 1 liter, or from it just being a freer flowing pipe. I doubt any of them would lean out the mix enough to burn valves, but why not compliment the pipe with a correct tune?
well if you have a pipe that is not made for you bike, for the right back pressure or whatever it can burn your valves.... just like taking off your pipe to begin with right? i mean you have to have the right back pressure... someone back me up cuz now im doubting myself
Having some backpressure is important, but it would most likey not solely cause you to burn valves.A freer flowing exhaust causes a leaner mix, and a leaner mix makes the exhaust temps higher. Exhaust temps that are too high can burn thevalves and ruin them.
