Default Safe or dangerous?

05 rr, axle threading is stripped, missing a wheel spacer (idk what that is btw lol) is riding it going to be dangerous or can it be done if going slow? I have a chance to pick up a bike for a really good deal but the only problem is the front axle and I don't have a truck to bring it back on

No, it is NOT safe to ride a bike (at any speed) with the issues you are concerned about.

The wheel spacers center the wheel between the forks and aligned with the brake
calipers. If you are missing one it will allow the wheel to run laterally on the axle,
possibly binding/locking the front wheel.

If the axle threads are stripped, you should consider the recieving threads on the forks stripped,
as well. The axle is steel, the forks are aluminum. This means a new set of forks.
So unless you are, at least, $300-$500 below market, you are not getting a great deal.
I'm not even mentioning the labor, just the cost of used replacement.

I would walk away, if something so fundamental to integrity is damaged, what else is wrong that you are missing?

Here's my latest recommended reading before purchasing a used bike...

Hope this helps, Ern

Dangerous. The axle is held in by pinch bolts also. If you were going slow and it wasn't far, I'd ride on that. But the missing spacer is very dangerous.

If you're looking, check out this site, it's my new favorite...

Used Motorcycle Evaluation Guide

Better to walk if you have any doubts, you don't really want to buy someone else's mistakes.
I do recommend planning 10%-20% of your purchase budget for post-buy expenses.
Something will come up, it helps to avoid the "too broke to fix my broke bike" blues.

You need to quit looking at these so called "deals" that have problems & focus on buying good quality serviceable & maintained bikes.

As always, my advice agrees w/ Madhattr059 & 74demon.
