on the chain and sprocket instal. if you bought a chain and sprocket kit all togather then yes you have to have your stock chain "cut" off. (just taken apart with a chain breaker)... then you can instal the front sprocket by removing the top bolt of the shifter lever at the top, swinging it out of the way... loosten the 2 or 3 8mm bolts that hold your sprocket cover on. then you can get to the 14mm bolt that holds your front sprocket on, with the bike in 1st gear you should be able to break the TQ on that bolt...now if you havent yet this would be a good time to loosten your chain tention in order to remove your rear tire and get the chain out from around the front sprocket. remove stock chain with chain breaker... instal new front sprocket (if you care or want the TQ of that bolt let me know)... remove the rear sprocket from the hub and instal the new one (once again these nuts have torque's if you care) mount the rear tire back up... set the chain tention and take more links off the new chain if you need to. re instal the front sprocket cover...shifter linkage... and your all set. (your welcome)

any one will tell you its best to change them all out at the same time. but i know from experiance that it won't hurt anything to change them out one at a time and see how they feel, if you only change out the front first and leave the rear sprocket and stock chain on thats fine. its not going to blow up in your face.

i changed my front... then rode a while... changed my rear sprocket... and i am still useing the stock chain... i clean, inspect, and lube it regularly and have found no sighns of defect.

as for the power you will feel... it will not stand straight up if you are in first gear coasting @ 2000rpm and nail it... it still takes faness to get her up but it seems to make alot more TQ. accellorating like a gun...

HAVE FUN... BE SAFE.

id like to be able to pull power wheelies. what gear and where in your powerband does it pull up? i have the front sprocket down one for the lower gearing and thinking about changing some in the back. one in front is worth three in the back. so that means going down six in the back would probably pull my front up pretty good right?

i went only -1/0 for a while, then i added my rear sprocket +2, i thought it wouldn't do much more but it did, the front comes up quite easy in first with just a snap of the throttle above 8k rpm

lower. than that. Not to many 600cc bikes will get over 160 with stock settings. Your probably doing like 140
