it takes getting used to, gas mileage goes to poopy. but who cares about gas milage when you can go 0-100mph as fast as lightning pull 2nd gear whoolies with such ease. keep old chain and sprockets and change back for ong tris.

Whats the diff in milage? When I ride easy I get around 43, so what would it drop to under the same riding conditions?

Gas here in Wisconsin is $3.30 for 93 octane. I get about 45 mpg city/hwy combined, and I rip it to 100+mph each morning so alot of WOT driving...

The point I am trying to make, which jwp6114 already kinda said, is that who cares if you lose a bit on gas if you can peel your eyelids back and have a blast? So what it cost $1 more per fillup at the very extreme bad end of the spectrum? I say big deal, I love it -1/+2.

I was just wondering because I like to drag race and didn't want to run out of gear. 140 is way to fast for me anyways. Thanks

It doesnt come up that easy...just like anything else its all throttle and clutch control.

Put it to you this way -- this is my first bike and I have no trouble controlling it. Don't fear putting them on because you can always change it back.

As far as top end goes, I hit 125 today (SpeedoHealer'd so it's actual mph and mpg and top speed according to the recall) and from what I remember that was winding out in 5th so 140 sounds about right for a max speed in 6th gear.
