hi i'm new too,i have a 03 bike with power commander, only had the bike for about 2 months done 1500 miles now. when i'm on my own about 8k, but when there are between 10-15 bikes dont change till the little red light flickers, why would youwrob your self of accelaration? depens on the sitiation really. if rideing fast you want to be entering corners about 9k, the high revs keep bike stable, and if it spins, you'l be able to ketch it, and coming out on full throtttle so you get the engine braking on the back roads, other wise you'l be on the brakes all the time, and soom as you start braking you will think to much about your entry speed and go too slow or too fast

Wow! You figured all that out in 1500 miles.

No had a zx7rninja before 124bhpat wheel, of which i di 30k on, 14/45 set up, jetted, fullsytem, before that a fzr 400, which i turned into a track bike, and before that a rs125 with power valve. The 1500 miles is on the cbr 600rr
just had the cbr on dyno, 106bhp and 44torque standard appart from a power cammander
Mates 05 R1 made 166bhp and 76.72torque

But i am right abouth the rmpthough(unless you are on a 1000 or a V-twin, then you can be lazy but aint been on one so can't comment)
