Default rear turn signals?

Ok this may be confusing but I had a 2000 r6 and when I bought it it had K&S flushmount rear led signals, anyway It was hooked up with a u-haul high evergy 3 to 2 wire taillight converter(shown below) anyway I sold that bike and forsome reason took the uhaul converter out. Now on my 600rr I just bought the k&s led signals again but cant figure out how to wire them right,When I tie them right into the factory wiring they blink So fast that you cant really see it, I was gonna buy resistors but the guy at radio shack told me that if I dont get the right ones they could get too hot and cause problems. So My last resort for now was to try and hook this piece up again..
I tried hooking the 2 green ground wires together and connected those to the ground on the trailer side and then the orange to the "turn/stop left" and the blue up to the "turn/stop right" then the red/blk wire on the signal to the "ground" and the red to the "turn left" and then the other red on the other signal to the "turn right". Basicly what happened was when you hit the turn signal either direction both signals would flash,(at a slow/normal rate) but I cant figure out how to get them to flash one side at a time.
I even flipped everything around and tried it the tow vehicle side conecting to the bikes wires and the trailer side on the signals. this may be confusing but I know it used to work on my last bike and its drivin me crazy..
