Default Rear license bracket??

When I bought my 03 600RR the rear fender and turn signals had already been removed, and the signals integrated with the taillight. The license plate had been mounted on a bracket on the swingarm. I would like to mount the bracket back under the tail, as far back as possible, but all the brackets I find are made to mount the plate way up in front of the wheel....at a steep angle....which makes the plate almost unreadable!! There are mounting holes on the tail framing..(I assume they were for the rear fender)...that would be the perfect place to mount a bracket, but I have not been able to locate a bracket made to mount at that location! Anyone have any ideas?

You might have to fab up your own, since it's been previously modified.

Whatever you do, don't forget to add the illumination.
If you're gonna go to the trouble to be legal, might as well do it right.

Be sure, when you choose your mounting position, that it allows for the full travel of the rear wheel.

Good luck, Ern

I used the same bolt holes for OEM bracket and attached custom bracket, now in second edition, there. I don't know if that's you had in your mind but here are the pics. If you want my old bracket, you can have it. Just let me know

This was my old one

That looks like just what I need!! Do you ever have problems with the bolts loosening up? .....just mounting it with one bolt on each side, I thought the vibration from riding might make it try to pivot on the mountings...... Definately gives me ideas for fab!! Thanks for the offer of your old one.....let me see what I can come up with making my own...and I might have to take you up on that!! Awesome pipe, by the way!!
