you can and it wont hurt your engine. But it wont benefit it either and will be a waste of money unless you tune the bike to need n run 108.

there is a gas station by my work that has 100 octane, and i notice a good difference in my horsepower with no tuning. i fill a full tank with it every other week and love it.

Its all in your head lol. Sorry but its true. I use to think the same with my hotrods back in the day. Its more they run smoother and cleaner with the better quality fuel. Not produce more power. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

we can agree to disagree, but i fill the tank every other week with the 100 octane (i think it's called blue thunder or maybe blue lightening), and it gives the bike more power. i am not judging this based one one run, or even 5 runs....i've filled up on this many times, including my car, and it does make each quicker; quicker to the point where each seems a bit sluggish without it.

You'd be wasting your money with C12.

Papi, while I haven't had a 07/08 on a dyno yet, I'd bet a dyno will tell a different story... I've done it before, below is from a thread a while back about using VP U4 (now U4.2)

ORIGINAL: Jason748

When I had my 03 race bike, I spent a day on the dyno doing some quick "what-if" tuning with my engine tuner...
2003 Stock motor W/ slip-on, race filter.
87 pump = Just under 99hp
90 pump = Just over 98hp
92 pump = Just under 97hp
100 "pump race" = just under 98hp.
U4 race gas (92 octane) = Just over 100hp

So with a stock engine (internals) running an oxygenated race gas (U4) only gave a bit more than 1 hp over 87 pump. Just running AV gas or high octance "pump" race gas even when mapped actaully lost a bit of power. After I added a full system and got it custom mapped I was consistanly getting around 2hp more over 87 pump. So that helped a bit but not much.

But on my 2005 race bike with a "suspersport" built motor, and all the bolt on goodies. I'm seeing a difference of about 4 hp between 92 pump (That's the lowest I can run becuase of the supersport motor work) and U4. The only place I really notice the difference (on the lamp timer) is at tracks with really LONG straights and losts of WFO throttle, like Road America. At smaller tracks there is no real difference that I've noticed, by my butt dyno or the lap times.

Ok thanks for the input. i was just making sure that it was not going to blow my bike up!!! I am not really looking for it to improve anything. i got 4 5 gallon jugs of it for free so i just wanted to use it. plus it smells awsome.. haha.

I heard that running to high of an octane for a prolonged period with burn your injectors up? might not be true

Yea, It'll be fine, but I'd recommend running it mixed 50/50 with normal gas. Race gas tends to be a bit more corrosive (but C12's not too bad) and if let sit in the tank for a while it could do some damage... I've always liked the smell of VP too... U4.2 & MR9 are espicially good!

VP smells so good

my friend runs it in his truck (custom '55 chebby with a huge blower and about 20* timing LOL)

my 2 cents..
racing gas doesnt "improve" h/p rankings, just compensates for indifferences in the air/fuel mix smoothing things out
unless you were to run some rediculous race motor that you would need a slower burn time to prevent the detonation that would occur without it.

oh and btw, look what i can get here at the track
