quick question about engine
Hey all,
i have been a member of this forum for a while. I got a cbr f4i and sold it after 3 months of riding and havent right it since. Now i want to ride it again. The bike i am looking at is in good condition. the guy wants 3k for it. it is an 06 600rr with 28k! i know i can lower the price. My real concern is the mileage. Do you guys know what type of repair i am looking into if it does break down? how often does the 600rr break down and at what mileage? should i buy it or let it go and look for an 06 around 5k with lower mileage like 10k? or less? Thank you

I personally have seen an R1 with over 200k on the odometer and it still ran great. It all depends on how well the owner or owners took care of it. Routine maitanence is a must, especially when you are talking high mileage high performance engines. But at the same time, you can find an 06 with 10k or so for around 5 thousand dollars. SO is the little bit of money you would have worth it? I would think not, but that is not to say if you bought a well taken care of high mile bike, that it wouldn't do anything but run great for you. Good luck!

There is a guy on here with over 200K on his F4i. https://cbrforum.com/forum/general-t...e-mark-117511/. With the proper maintenance these things can last forever. If you were you do it I would have the valve clearance checked.
