what piece? the throttle tube?
If it's broken, replace what you broke, obviously. Then go from there.

That's just the bar end, shouldn't affect anything. Something else has to be wrong, like the bank angle sensor tripped.

the silver part of the bar end seemed to have snapped off internally

so that would have nothing to do with turning on the bike?

No, it screws in there, they snap off at times (as you can see).

turn you bike on with the key than turn the red switch on for a few secs, than turn it off(red swicth) than on and off, than try to start it. give it a lil gas, there might not me enough oil in the top end of the engine depending on how long it was on its side so it might not wanna start right away but if you have a lil gas going through it than it shouldnt be a problem.

it actually turned on right after i picked it up but i turned it off shortly after. since then it hasn't been on.

well, i just tried the above process and now when i try to start the bike it clicks but the lights are extremely dim. correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like my battery is now dead?

yeah, you tried starting it too many times with out turning on and off the bike, which killed your battery, just jump start it with your car and whilie its charging do the whole on off thing a few times...

i did the same thing once, killed the battery by trying to start it too much with out turning it off and on... gud thing there was a big hill to jump start it on.
