Diggin the bike bro. I also ride with no heat shield, and it's never been an issue. I do have some exhaust tape and teflon coating on the way though, but only because I think the void looks ugly and I dig the look of the tape.

damn guys! I just randomly checked this thread and I dont know why I havent been getting my email notifications?! I am subscribed but I havent been getting email notifications for most of my subscribed threads... oh well. anyways

ya, I love my stompgrips. They look hot sometimes, and sometimes I feel they take away from the pure sex look of the bike, but overall I dont' think I'll ever have a bike again without them. I'm a big guy and I really use these for stopping my ***** from plowin the tank at lights. Plus they are awesome for carvin the twisties.

I have heat shield tape stuck up under the undertail. It seems to work good and was like $20. Obviously I feel the heat occasionally but its never been bad enough that I felt the need for the shield to be placed back on. I guess I would consider powdercoating it and reinstalling but I kinda like the gap.

thx man, and of course that sexy guy in the pic is some douchebag from down the street that ran in front of the camera and messed up my ****** pic

as far as the rules for the tags, I dont follow them. Right now my tag is attached with picture wire. I had that FE bracket but didnt like the placement. I dont have a tag light and never have... except 2 years ago when I bought it new I had a tag light for about 7 days. I haven't been pulled over for it but Id never say it wont happen. For over a year I didnt even have rear turn signals. Basically, whatever I do, do the opposite, lol!

We get pulled over for "illegal display" or whatever, if it's not lit up at night or tucked to far up under the tail and you can't see it...but not for the mudflap thing you guys are talking about... I think every one I know here has an integrated tail light on their bike of choice...
