Default passenger riding

hey all I gotta 05RR and im still kinda new so I dont know what to expect really, but I understand the ride will be slightly more sluggish when having a passenger but how often do you guys ride with one???? I am about 210 and she is about 130. Just curious cuz I want to put her on more but I dont really trust being that heavy on a 600 ya know. am I trippin or what. LOL

Make sure you know what your doing before you put someone else on there. The bike reacts totally different and its a lot more difficult to manuver the bike with the extra weight. Also, make sure she knows what she is doing. I used to ride with one all the time, it takes getting used to, but then I got her her own bike, so, I still do it, but not as often.

yeah, I found that out lol.. I had to teach her how to be a passenger, I try to be as safe as possible always!!! But my main question is how good for the bike is it.

More than likely you will not own the bike long enough for it to matter but riding with a passenger makes the engine and suspension work a little harder and will probably increase wear. This wear will be so slightly more than not riding a passenger that it would take a lot of miles to matter.

On the upside, you can use it as an excuse to buy a new bike in a few years.

lmao, my fault, i'm relating it to my situation i guess. i don't think there will be any real stress on anything but maybe your clutch since you'll have to slip it a bit in 1st gear. but other than that i think the bike is very capable of handling a passenger withuot any real harm.

Adjust your rear reload for the extra weight. If you plan on having her on a lot, then you might wanna adjust all your suspension settings for the extra weight, but do the preload first.

Slip, you are right, women love crotch rockets. In both senses : )

Yeah, the only problem I had starting out with a passenger is the 1st gear slipping. My buddy has a Ninja 500 and he rides his girl all of the time without a problem, you'll be fine with your rr.
