it was a bumper coating paint. its supposed to withstand road conditions better than regular spray can stuff.

Looks very nice. Gonna do same thing soon, is there a namebrand on the paint? Is it still a spray can? Thanks.

sorry i cant be of help...it was the only bumper coating paint at walmart in the automotive section...i have heard of people using expensive spray cans but i figured that would would just as well if not better. but yeah its just a spray can flat black bumper coating. it didnt require any priming, just sanded it down with 800 grit to get the silver off. then sprayed 3 coats on it, let it sit over night, the next day i wetsanded with 1200 3 coats, let it dry, then wetsanded one more time to get the spots were it had some runs then sprayed it twice more...pretty good if you ask me, i didnt wanna go all crazy on it...theyre right next to the road ya know

The bumper coating stuff its pretty good. It's flat, but not ugly like primer. It's more of an eggshell, which look good. A shiny black would have turned out bad (with a spray can anyways.) Good job man, looks clean.

blue fox, thanks for that clarification, thats what i was trying to say but i couldn't figure out how to say it just right, you hit the nail on the head. so far so good on the paint, the dirt just wipes off and the decals are on strong, theyve been on about a week now
