i think if you have a decent moded 600, plus a quickshifter, you can haul *** enough to keep up with the 1k's even on straights, bcuz of the corner/exit speed. the quickshifter will allow you to get going sooooo fast on the straight that 1ks will not close the gap as quick...

Get a 51 for da track. U won't regret it. A real smooth machine, with great low end pull, and good top end power. It a different animal all together.

yes the rc51 has some weight to it but on the track you would never notice the difference.
i have a buddy with one who was outrunning on the track people 3 levels higher his first time on the track with it.
finally ask colin edwards how crappy the rc51 is.

I know all too well... I had one, and it saw the track a fair bit. I definitely noticed the weight, especially when I started riding areal twin ... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're horrible, there's just so many bikes out there that are so much better, forso much less money.

And the bike(s) Colin was riding, was by his own admission a piece of sh*t until mid seasonwhen they put a different frame on it to actually make it handle, not to mention it had a whole lot of HRC unobtanium.
