RE: Oil & Filters???
I use the OEM Honda paper filter, but some people swear by the Scotts reusable filter (here's a review http://www.cbr600rr.com/forum/index.php?page=55 ) and I decided to go with Honda HP4 semi synth...I like the best of both worlds...

RE: Oil & Filters???
First... $120 for the Scotts filter [sm=insomnia.gif] At $12 per regular filter, that would pay for itself in 10 changes... but damn that's a lot to pay out for the first oil change.
I don't know if there is a set mileage to start using synthetic oil, but I waited until the my 6000 mile oil change. That gave me the first at 600, 2nd at 3000 and then a 3rd at 6000 I started using synthetic. Makes for a $50 oil change... but oh-well.

Preety close to the mileage I use, 600, 3K, and then every 2,500 after.
