Oil Change

I am about to reach 600 miles on my 07 600RR. I was wondering what the best oil to use is. I also checked the manual and it says 10W30. So I guess thats what I should use. Any comments?

RE: Oil Change

The short answer is use what Honda recommends, either the HondaGN4 (regular)or HP4(synthetic) and make sure you change the filter too.

In my opinion if you use any half-decent oil ( like one of the above)and change it regularly (2500-3000 miles), you'll be just fine.

The long answer is:there is a vast amount of information to read and learn, this topic is as indepth as you care to make it. Do a search on the Forum and you'll see.

That's not the only oil the manual recommends either, it also recommends "equivalents"...pour elephant snot in as long as it's the right weight and viscosity!

What I would do is call your local dealer the place whereyou bought your bike and ask them whatoil they use. Then stop by the dealer and buy the oil from them unless you can find the same brand oil else where it may be cheaper than the dealers. My dealer use "Pro Honda GN4 SAE 10-40 SJ on my bike.
