Default OEM Tires?

Hey,

How many miles did everyone get with their OEM tires? What is the normal mileage the dealershipreports they will last under "normal" driving conditions?

Thanks

Kevin

I ahd about 4000 on my OEM 208s and about 3500 on Qualifiers. I don't think I'll ever wear out the corsa stradas so I can get back to a good tire.

There's really not a "normal" mileage because there's so much variation among riders and road conditions, but it seems the average from the people on the forum and frommy experienceis roughly 4,000 miles on a rear tire and 8,000 miles on the front.

Yeah it really all depends on what type of riding you will be doing, what kind of a rider you are, and the compound tire you chose. My first Pilot Power I got maybe 4,000 miles out of or a bit more. The 2nd rear Pilot Power I got lasted about 9,000 miles. However, a majority of those miles were pretty much highway miles with 300 mile to 600 mile trips on them.

WTF... 9k on a PP? Never heard of that before, not even close. You must have exercised a lot of control.

Who cares about the stock tires anyways? They suck *** and should be pulled as soon as the bike hits the sales floor!

I am nota good guide for tire wear as I tend to wear them out pretty quickly......

I replaced my stockies prematurely, but my rear was already at 4000 miles with about 1000 left in it. The front was replaced at 7000 miles........and it still had about 1000 miles left on it.

Just depends if you thrash is around the street, ride like a normal person, or attend track days more often.

I bought my 06 600rr brand new w/ Dunlop sportmax D218 tires.

And a year later, i still have the stock tires on there and Im at 7500miles. Front tire w/ about 60-70% tread left and the Rear w/ about 20%. Give or take.
Im not to knowledgible about tires so i have no clue how long these tires should last normally.

Should last about 3 to 5000 miles, so you're doing great. There's some more of that control I was talking about. Fast acceleration and hard riding will eat the tries up.

I'm at over 6500 miles so far on the bike. I can't judge the front, because somewhere around 2K miles or so I got a nail in the dead center of it, so I replaced it. The back is finally shot, this weekend it'll be time for a big smokey burn-out (I've always wanted to do one, but everytime something happens and I have to replace the tire without getting to do it), then match it up to the front tire. (I like mine matching). Metzler's all the way!
