noobie question front wheel

Default noobie question front wheel

I know this is a noobie question but does anyone know the steps to put the front wheel back on? torque of axel bolt? and do i tighten axle first or axle clamps.
thanks sorry for the dumb post but this will help alot

hm well i am guessing from the section a 600rr...

but install the axle .. then tighten the axle nut/bolt - not sure on ft lbs - but on 954 it's 58ftlbs

then tighten pinch bolts - 954rr - 16ftlbs

now those are ft lbs specs for 954rr.. but got to be close to that in general for a bike, but check for 600rr

then the calipers to 22ftlbs

Here is what my '03-'04 600 RR Manual says...







Hope it helps. Anything else you need I can take pics and post, or there are websites that have the manual online.

wow thanks alot saves me from buying manual. this is weird. the rims never had that distance collar in the rim?

and i just gave it to a local motorcycle shop for them to put bearings in and never gave them the collar? how bad would it be without it?

yea i have a 2003. so i deffinatly have to order it huh? d**n im gunn ahve to call the shop in morning then so they dont do it.

just call the shop and tell them your not sure if you need that piece or not, they should know...and if you do, they should be able to get it.

I'd say you'd want that piece in there.
