noob winterizing question
so i am getting ready to winterize my 06 cbr 600. Here is a dumb question for everyone. I am going to buy fuel stabilizer. Is there some that is better then others, like oil. Also how much do you put in the entire thing or will it say on bottle.
Do i start bike and let it run for a while then leave it sit.
Start of next season do i empty gas or just ride the tank out.
LET ME KNOW THANKS IN ADVANCe

I have always used STA-BIL in everything. Always worked great. On the back of the bottle it will tell you how much to use. DO NOT use the whole bottle. I think it is only a couple of oz. I fill the bike up. Put the STA-BIL in. Ride it around the block to get it all mixed up (and enjoy the last ride of the season) and that is it. Next season you do not have to drain the fuel. Just start it up and ride.
Many will tell you that you must change the oil as well so the bike sits in clean oil instead of dirty oil. I don't know if I believe that but I change the oil at the end of the season just so I don't have to do it at the start of the next season.
Remember to take the battery out and keep it some place warm and on a tender if possible. If you have stands use them to keep the tires off the ground. I do not have stand so I have never done this and never had any issues with flat spotting the tires or anything.
That should be it.

so i just winterized the bike and it is sitting in a 1 year old shead that is very clean. It will be in there for the next 5 months most likely. Would it be a good idea to keep a thin bed sheet over it, or will that not matter. I am just worried about condensation building up and all those problems. What should i do?

do an oil change after the last ride before you put it up. hydrocarbons (residual fuel) collect in the oil,....over time itll eat the main bearings. do the sta-bil thing.. good to go.
if anyone says otherwise, an oil change is a good idea regardless and its regular maint. so just get it out of the way for next year lol.
