I have an 05 600RR as my first bike. It's the first one that I have ever owned BUT I am learning on my friends 06 ninja 500. I have gotten 99% used to the 500 and feel like now I can tackle the 600RR fairly well provided I respect the bike and what it has to offer. The problem I see here is that I am 5'10" and do pretty well with the 600RR and my reach to the ground. I do tiptoe a bit but not enough for it to be a problem. I also have a pretty solid set of legs that can handle a fairly heavy bike provided they need to keep it from falling over. You on the other hand are 5'3" and do not fit your bike. It's not a matter of lowering it to make it a bettr fit for you. The fact of the matter is that the bike was not made for you and the fact that you are changing it to make it fit you worries me. I'm not telling you it's wrong or that you shouldn't do it. I just want you to be safe. I've seen the worse end of a lot of situations and I'd hate to hear about someone else finding the worse end. Be careful and good luck!
