^^ I agree about the scorpion helmet.. I love my EXO-1000... i just bought my gf the exo-400 and she loves it! you cant go wrong with any model!

I love my scorp jacket but her and her brother both have the same Joe Rocket jacket... It is all mesh with REALLY NICE pads... it breathes much better than a tshirt! so that would be a nice summer jacket to look into... i thinkt hey paid 150 for it, my scorp was about same pricethicker jacket, lesser thickness of pads, not mesh though.

every helmet is DOT approved. Depends on how much you wanna spend for a helmet. I got my arai quantumII off ebay for 325 shipped. I love it. Nice and light weight. I never really cared about weight untill I started riding alot and my hjc was killing my neck/shoulders

Got my EXO-400 for $180 from their site
great helmet, comfortable, good fit (I wear a size 8 fitted hat and got the XXL) breathes, etc.
Yes, I think ALL scorp helmets are both DOT and SNELL approved
They have a LOT of selection, colors, etc.
not to mention they ALL look awesome

think about the color you want your bike to be and match it with the helment...I got the orange Scorpion sting helment and love it, and now it matches my 08 pearl orange
