Default New 2005 CBR600RR

Well...I did it. After asking a few forum members for advice on my first bike, I went out and bought a 2005 CBR600RR right off the showroom floor...all black. Like I said before, it's my first street bike and my confidence is already building since I started riding it yesterday. I plan on taking a safety course through the state in the next few weeks to satisfy my wife and yes I'll admited...myself. Anyway, I look forward to talking with everyone here on the forum. Later!

Good to hear you purchased a quality bike,I dont have one yet but i am DEFINETLY getting one, hopefully i will order it tomorrow. But i was just wondering what they are like to ride? Have you ever had any nasty moments or nasty little snatches from the rear wheel because you gave it a little too much power? Do you have to be very careful on the throttle? Or am i just asking too much questions and really nothing to worry about!!!!! This question is for everyone. Hope for some feedback, cheers!!!!

Great choice. You don't have anything to worry about on the bike, just respect it, and it will respect you back. CBR's are notorious for being a great starter bike, they handle well, are very forgiving, and have a good balance of handling and power. Me, I should have went larger, but just did not have the money, and wanted a new bike... before this 600RR I was riding a 96 ZX9R, all cranked up, you name it, it was done. Bike was sick fast, but just a big bike, hard to handle and throw around like this CBR, it did weigh 100 pounds more... and me being 5'4", 145 pounds... you get the point.

I'm happy with my choice... sure, my neighbor pulls away on a straight with his R1, but I keep up otherwise. Enjoy your new toy.. plus think of all the money in gas you can save. Stay safe,

-Steve

I just got a 600RR as my first bike also and very happy I did. Good luck and be safe. Invest some cash in some nice riding gear. Also a good class will help also. Since Honda pays back up to $75 for a driving class it is well worth your time.

Yeah, I got mine a little over a month ago. My first bike too, and I love riding it around town. I just gotta remember you can't get too comfortable out there, when you get too comfortable, you get careless. Happy ridin.
