Default Need Suggestions

I'm new to street riding and just bought a silver '08 600rr. I have terrible hearing from working around jets all day so I need a quiet helmet that's not gonna cost me a lot of jack. I've been kicking around the idea of getting some sliders, a fender elim, and a slip on but I don't know which should come first. Any help is appreciated.

Honestly, I had an Icon that I paid 200 bucks for and while I loved the design, it was retarded loud and the ventilation sucked ***. Now I have a Shoei X-11, got a good deal and only paid 400 for it. The look isn't as good in my opinion, but the ventilation is night and day in comparison. I actually can barely hear my bike at slow speeds to shift. Whatever you do, don't go cheap on your skid lid. It's one of the best investments on your life that you'll make in your life. All the mods to the bike can wait, but if you wait for a quality helmet, you may pay a hefty price.

Default Shoie

I have two helmets made by HJC, and they were very noisy. I just purchased a SHOIE RF-1000 and it is very quiet, however the cost is not low. Hope that helps.

I agree with Bob and USAF that a good helmet should be your main priority for now. If you want a good quality helmet with good noise control then your gonna have to shell some xtra bucks for it. Or go another route get a good helmet like the HJC and buy some earplugs which are very cheap. Hope this helps and good luck.

another thought would be some earplugs. they'd help a lot even with a cheap helmet. but a nice shoei wouldn't hurt either lol

I found my Shoei RF-1000 brand new for $300 shipped on ebay. It is VERY quiet. I wear plugs while riding on the highway, but around town you don't need them at all.

I wear Arai Corsair RX-7 it's a very sweet helmet pretty quiet even on the freeway. It's built to last very strong. But it came with a hefty price the way I look at it, safety comes first don't go to cheap with riding gear.
