need some help
ok so im gonna paint my fairings.. what kind of paint should i use? i dont want it to look like crap.. i want it to look good and not noticably rattle canned from a distance.. i just dont know what kind of paint to use on plastic? any suggestions? primer? paint?
IMHO i would take my fairings to a shop and get it professionally painted for like 400 bucks or even cheaper I would also get a basic but unique color. So if you get a small nick you can touch it up. The last thing you want is your bike to look like a kiddie arts and crafts project
Is your heart set on painting? why do you want to paint em? old, scuffed, cracked? or just want a new unique look? i think most people buying a bike will be a bit warry of one thats painted? the "has it been dropped and buddy painted the fairings" question comes to mind. Like bapishere suggested, i wouldnt go for a crazy hard to match color, good luck though on whatever you decide
yes the bike was downed at 20mph.. right side mid an tail got cracked. ordered new ones. i want it white. saw one on google looked pretty bad. i dont have intentions on selling it.. its a good bike and color matching is way to expensive.

In a nutshell, sand it, sand it some more... primer, then paint.... dry time... then paint..... dry time.... then paint. Wet sand if you need to.
I went through a pint on just the gas tank cover and one small side piece.
depends on what color you use.. but there's no clear gloss on mine and with the coats of color (aka base), there's no need. It matches the factory shine to a "t"..
