You can use a grinder to make it look like your scrapping pegs, hahahaha . I kid I kid. You wanting to do the whole rearset or just the peg?

Why lower the pegs? You can but new rear sets that are adjustable, but I dunno if they go lower than stock, usually riders want to raise n move them back a lil for better clearance, like on race bikes.
