RE: Insurance ? how much
i've done some shopping around recently... i went w/ geico for $745 for 6 mos. i've got 1 speeding ticket in 2005, 29 yrs old, los angeles, full coverage 1000$ ded for a 2004 cbr.
state farm's rate for me was a little higher. i think your loc is very important in determining your rate. i could've gotten about $50/mos if i switched my car over to state farm also, because than the bike would be considered my ... i forgot what they call it, like a secondary extra vehicle w/ my car being primary.
everybody should definately get full coverage unless they have an old crappy bike. the first year i got mine in 2004 i had liability only, brand new, an laid it down going only about 30-40 mph around a curve. it costed me about 700$ to make it street rideable again, but if i wanted all the cosmetic stuff done as well, it would of been estimated a another $3500. to this day i still have to live w/ the ugly scratches on the side.... if you can find between 50-100$, i think that'd be a great deal and definnately worth full

you know what helps to reduce your rate? take the rider safety course (this applies in CA, don't know about other states) which i think is only $20 if you're under 21. also, rates i think are affected by the number of years you've been riding, how long you've had your moto license, and how many miles you plan to drive a year... so when estimating these times and miles, better to err on the side that'll save money.
