i need some advice...
ok today was a really bad day for me. i went to class on my cbr 600 at 10:00 am and found out i got a 60% on my exam. Feeling crappy riding home, i checked my gas meter and it only had 1 bar left. Thinking 1 bar is still enough for 4-5 miles...but all of the sudden, while riding, my cbr turned off. i got scared and thought something was wrong with my bike. then i realize i was low on gas so i try starting the bike up while slowly moving, but it wouldnt turn on. So i tried popping the clutch but didnt work. Finally put gas in but my battery was dead.
Do you guys know if its normal for a bike to turn off while moving if the gas is low? And anyone know about cbrs and their battery? i heard its not good... i have a 04 cbr 600rr.
Thanks for reading and please give advice or information if you guys got any.

Stators are similar to alternators in cars, powers the bike and charges the battery while the engine is running. If it is not working you are using your battery to power the bike and that will quickly kill the battery.

if you havent taken one apart before, or arent very mech inclined i wouldnt mess w it!!
and about the battery, if you have a volt meter measure it, should be 12-13ish. if its below 12 it wont start your bike. If it is dead, you can always re charge it but if its old (bike batteries usually dont last very long, 3-4yrs maybe?) it may not hold the charge for very long. If thats the case you'll have to spring for a new one. approx $100+-
