My friend is selling me a 2003 cbr600rr with 19k for $4900. Is that a good deal or not?

 

Without seeing the bike or pix, $4900 is a good price, but also the miles are a slightly high. Not that high if the bike was well maintained, obviously he/she rode the bike often. I would make sure the proper maintenance, etc. has been performed in a timely manner. Since its your friend hopefully you have a good relationship and there is not bullshyt involved. At 19K miles you are getting close to having to perform major maintenance (i.e. valve timing, etc.). Factor in any work you may have to perform just to get to your specifications.

yeah miles aren't a big deal as long as it was maintained. a buddy of mine has 23k on his 03 600RR - runs like brand new. and yes, that's a good price

 

Thanks guys i feel more comfortable now. The bike was well maintained by him. He's a rider and also a tech. He'll even come to my house and take a look at the bike if i have anything problems in the future. He's a good friend. I dont mind paying him a lil extra, but i was just making sure we're in the right price range. He still owes the bank around $5200 but willing to put some money out of his pocket to bring it down. I'll post pics after getting it next week. Thank you for the inputs again.

 

i have an 03' cbr 600 rr with almost 11,000 miles on it, it runs great prime of its life, but the only thing im concerned about is my noisy cam chain tensioner!!

 

that shouldnt be a big deal?.....its a honda .....theres guys out there with 100k on these bikes

 

mine has 26,200 miles on it and I just checked he valves, no adjustments were needed and he parts you could see were beauifull no wear a all. electronics are screwed though had to buy a new brain for my girl. Wish all women had a replacable brain.
