Default Windscreens... MRA or Zero Gravity Double Bubble?

I have a 2007 CBR600RR that currently has a Zero Gravity SR series dark smoke windscreen. During the daytime I am having difficulty seeing the gauge cluster. I can see the tach fine, the speedo ‘decent’ but never the mileage or the clock. I’m thinking that the combination of my dark smoke windscreen and dark smoke visor coupled with the fact that the gauges are so recessed into the nose is causing this.

I was thinking of going with a Zero Gravity light smoke Double Bubble instead to let more light in through the screen and around it, but then a few friends showed their MRA windscreens on their ZX14s. Both of them had ZG double bubbles before and since they switched to the MRAs they say that the air is much less turbulent and ‘cleaner’.

I did have a ZG SR series on my last bike in dark smoke (F4i) without any issues but that bike’s gauge cluster seemed much closer to the rider and more open to light than the RR is.

Is the MRA screen worth the extra coin? Is anyone experiencing an issue like me and did a lighter screen cure it? Any experiences are welcome.

I can't comment on the ZG on the 600rr. I had a ZG DB on my f4i as well and it was fine. I have a Ebay version of the DB on my RR. It is completely black, not light can get through it. I can see the time and ODO perfectly fine on it.

Be careful of the double bubble style screen. If you park your bike facing north on a sunny day the sunlight can reflect back off the screen and leave a burn mark on the display. There's a warning included with every DB screen about this.

I ended up with a ZG light smoke Double bubble and I put the OEM Honda windscreen decal underneath..
