Default How much money will get me a 600rr?

I'm trying to find a 600rr and I cant seem to find one for less then about 5000 bucks. And I can find a cbr 1krr for that much or even less! Ive seen them for 4000 in perfect shape! Im trying to avoid getting a 1000 because I have only riden for a couple years on an f3, Id rather upgrade to a 600rr but they cost so much it seems? What should I be able to get one for? Anyone know where maybe? I sold my f3 and I wanna go ride! NOW to be exact haha.

I have heard that going from an 600 to a 1k also doubles your insurance rates.

What year? I'm in Toronto and prices are high up here, more so than last year. I'm looking at '07+ and people are generally asking for $7K at the low end and up. Previous gen about $5500 - $7000. Mileage doesn't even seem to matter. It's discouraging.

It will also depend on your history... from going from my f2 to 954 my insurance only went up 15$ for my full coverage.

depends on age as well... and year... i am 23... PA... and a 1000rr was OUT OF THE QUESTION... reason 1 was the gf... reason 2 was insurance was RIDICULOUS... unless i went for one that quite old... as in like 5-8yrs old... that was what i could afford... i spend a little over 100 a month now as it is for my 09 600rr... i do have full coverage... i have a (knock on wood) clear driving history for the past 5 years... so insurance sucks if you have full coverage... if you dont... its not bad...

my buddy got a gsxr 750 about 2 months ago... and he did it wen suzuki did their "special short time deal".... you dont need anything but basic coverage... he pays like 150 for the year on a 2011 suzuki gsxr 750... but if it gets stolen or ANYTHING HAPPENS TO IT... guess whose still paying on a 14,000 dollar loan (he was upside down on his previous bike)... or defaults... so that is a "ballzy" option too..

Amazingly I just picked up my 04 RR for 2900. Needs a few little things but finding a bike like this for what I paid this time of year is almost impossible.
